I am working on some Art Boxes for the Winter Holidays. I just happened to start working on them near Halloween, Day of the dead, Día de Muertos and All souls day… do you practice or celebrate one or all of them? I am an Anglican / Episcopalian by belief but also believe many things as I age.
All Souls Day Anglicans view All Souls’ Day as an extension of the observance of All Saints’ Day and it serves to “remember those who have died”, in connection with the theological doctrines of the resurrection of the body and the Communion of Saints.[8 (Wiki)
My box is a collection of things I love, I love Frida and what she represented to other women and how she told her own truth. She lived her own truth too, politically, as an artist, as a lover, as a person who lived in severe pain throughout her life. I honor her life.
Today, as I make art I celebrate all the lives that came before me…
Dia de los muertos or Day of the dead:
Most people celebrate Day of the Dead out of love and commitment to their loved ones (Wiki)

“I’ve reached the point where I hardly care whether I live or die. The world will keep on turning without me, I can’t do anything to change events anyway.”
