WordPress Collects emails but I do not gather those since there is not an opt in on here (giving me permission to email you).
Oh my goodness, are you ready? I am still not ready, talk about last minute! Life has certainly been so busy for me this year! I am going last minute shopping this week and Saturday! Oh, my! Again I am featuring some Etsy sellers that I have interviewed and they have answered all my questions for this blog. I have asked them all how this holiday season is going for them. They love to create, have plans for the new year, and have all come up with their Christmas plans.
When reading Denise Nendza’s about page you will understand why she named her shop TinkerMansLegacy. She writes in her About Page on Etsy that growing up in a tinkering household her parents encouraged freedom of expression and nourished the creativity. Her parent’s taught artistic skills so she could visualize ideas in her mind and all the creative process to flow, so manifesting an idea into reality.
Denise’s father was nicknamed “The Tinker Man,” and has always had some sort of a project going on around the home or out in his workspace in the garage area. Between the parents, there were always cool projects coming to fruition. They always had some sort of project in the works going on around our house and out in the garage. They updated cars and made ceramics. There are also family photo albums that showcase the family’s creative growth.
From this upbringing, Denise has always wanted to create and has her Etsy Shop that focuses on handcrafted bracelets. Her bracelets are beautiful and look to be great gift ideas. It speaks to me and having a positive attitude and we all are taught to have in Artisan Indie. I love the saying! I am sure you will find something that speaks to you in Denise’s shop!
Denise has been working on the sale of local orders and she is sure she will have some more calls for bracelets this week (for last minute shoppers like me!). Denise still has presents to make for her family members as she does not purchase gifts, she loves to handcraft for family and friends. She like many small business owners will be pulling some all-nighters. She loves it though, no complaints!
Once Christmas is over, she will begin the daunting task of counting and will check all of her inventory for the end of year ~ taxes! Another Oh my, as I need to do that too! Once Denise has counted inventory she has new designs dancing in her head… Fa~La~La~La
Second up is Leslie D. Tucker Etsy seller~
Leslie D. Tucker of Surprise Designer sells all year round. She does not close her shop unless she is actually away on vacation (some sellers shut shops up for a couple of weeks at Christmas since mailing is super hard and busy).
Leslie is one of my favorite sellers as she crochets pinks feminism “pussycat” hats. I am in love with her hats! When the marches on Washington start again in January 2018 she will be super busy crocheting hats. I am going to have to order one for myself! I love them!
She also makes fingerless gloves which I also want! Since most of Leslie’s products are somewhat cold weather items, so it is her time of year to be selling. She has orders coming in now and she will be filling orders from a holiday gift guide she is in.
Leslie’s’ Christmas shopping is for her older kiddos so gift cards are all the rage. They do not require many things… which makes life much easier!
For 2018 Leslie goal is designing everyday accessories so she is able to have a new venture and sell year round. She also has some creative new ideas for coats and other clothing items.
Also in 2018, Leslie will be starting a local chapter of BAM (Business Among Moms) in her area. She believes in giving back to the community.
Next up, well, is me! I have two Etsy shops and a Website. I have changed some of my plans by opening a Bridal Accessories Shop on Etsy and I will be adding items that also will be for Bridal on my Website. My bridal shop on Etsy is Nikeebottalico Designs My Jewelry Supply Shop is Objectsandoddities and I offer supplies of all kinds new and Vintage and small art. I also will show you how to create items in the listing! I am all for helping other sellers, it is my way of giving back. My Website is NikeEBottalico, I also have a blog at that site where I blog about weddings! I would love to see you at each of my sites.
I am really wishing you a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, & a Happy Hannakuah. I appreciate you reading my blog. I will continue to write each week, telling you about Handmade Sellers! Please drop me a note here or private message me on Facebook if you have an Etsy Shop and would like a feature!

Wow, it is December 13, 2017! Are you ready for the Holidays? Have you bought all your Christmas presents! Are you a person who waits until the last minute to buy your gifts?
I have only purchased 1 present! Oh, I have waited until the last minute and I am pretty sure I am not alone! Have you been too busy to go shopping or you do not like crowds?
I used to buy Christmas throughout the year but I have fallen off the wagon for sure. The 1 gift I have I bought during the Summer months. Nothing else…
Have I waited too long to order online? No! Plus, I do like to support my handmade Makers on Etsy. You can find things that are ready to ship items. Also, many Handmade sellers on Etsy that I have not showcased here on the Blog do have completed items that they can gift wrap for you and you can add expedited shipping as an upgrade. It is getting close as United States Postal Service is BUSY. If you take that into consideration for gift giving then, go for it. Buy something for your loved ones that are made with lots of love and handcrafted! I cannot tell you enough that it is good to support a local seller within the USA, or if you are in Europe to support your sellers there!
I have 3 Etsy Sellers this week who are all members of ArtisanIndie which is a wonderful Business Coaching Community “…where handmade, local business is celebrated and nurtured.” Do click on the link and see what it is all about. The owner of the Company is Sarah Sewell and her Experts who are a dream to learn from!
I queried the sellers if they were last minute shoppers themselves and if they have any ready to ship items in their Etsy shops for all those last minute shoppers. Now, they do have ready to ship gifts, (YAY!) but get on it as time is ticking and the United States Postal Service is super-duper Busy! So if you click on a link, like it buy it right away, and hopefully, the post-person can get it to you on time. Some of you may know the old Postal slogan, “through rain, sleet, and snow, etc, etc…” (I forgot I had to look up their Motto): “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” While the Postal Service has no official motto, the popularbelief that it does is a tribute to America’s postal workers.” That is their Motto, however, there is so much more mail nowadays with online shopping than when this motto came into play.
My first Ety Seller for this week is Sheila Ryan of Babymoon. I have blogged about Sheila before (sometime last year). I am constantly amazed by her spirit and energy as she is a business owner, a wife and has 9 children! I cannot imagine how much she has on her plate and I love her creative soul! I have seen an evolution in her creativity! It is really cool to watch. I would love to get to know Sheila better and she only lives a few hours away from me… maybe someday we can have a coffee together!
Sheila is like many of us who are creatives and she does not have her own Christmas list bought and completed! However, Sheila does have some last minute gift ideas for you to check out and purchase! I have listed two here for those of you who have waited (like me!).
Sheila named her shop Babymoon since she sees a new addition as “…a babymoon [which] is that sweet time when a mother and family welcome the newest little…” baby into their home. “It is a time of gentleness, reflection, love, and peace…” Sheila sees a Babymoon “…as the qualities, she strives to incorporate in all of her products.” The time a mom has with her “…newborn is so very precious and short, but so incredibly powerful in the life and growth of the new mother.” Sheila believes that by supporting “…new moms is one of her dear passions in real life, and she has made bonds and has dear friends because of her former work with the la leche league and that will last forever.”
Sheila makes any number of accessories from monogrammed luggage tags, pen/pencil holders, Halloween/dress-up masks, fingerless gloves, fun planner items, travel cases, personalized Christmas ornaments, and allergy tags. Most if not all of Sheila’s items can be personalized! She is an amazing small business owner and she adds new collections of her work frequently. Listed above are a couple of ready to ship items! Now onto my next Etsy Seller!
Another shop is SirWinslowsZoo, owner, is Meg McGhee. I asked her if she has anything that is ready to ship and she does! Again, my caveat is to order now, and order fast! Don’t wait until the last second when you have to depend on the USPS (United States Postal Service).
Meg has really precious items. She makes stuffed animals, pillows, fish, sharks, and Gnomes (a few other items too)! Her items are adorable, whimsical and unique. I smile looking at her items as they make me happy to see them!
These shark cases, as well as the Gnome pillows, just make me smile as Meg’s products are magical to me and oh so, sweet! Who would not want a shark to keep up with your pencils, your sunglasses or any small item you need for the day! I find them to be great fun and may have to get my own!
Meg named her shop after a fictional character named Sir Winslow Smith who was a professor of zoology at Oxford University. He traveled around studying Tigers, plants and other things of interest. Sir Winslow has been a part of Meg’s life for a long time! Be sure to read her about page as her story and the way she has developed her products for you, is awe-inspiring!
You can also see Meg’s website at SirWinslowZoo and see more of her products and her own blog. She has amazing products that you and your child will love! Meg is also a member of ArtisanIndie’s Community.
Ever since I joined Flourish @ArtisanIndie I have been able to get to know Jacqueline McLaughlin of BlueLotusDesignsShop She is delightful and a person I wish I lived closer as she is funny. I could see us being friends (more than online).
She is very active in Artisan Indie and I have learned a lot from her questions of the group. I also love her products! She makes very creative items that her customers love! She also has a shop that offers a number of items for your perusing and shopping. You will love her offerings.
Jacqueline McLaughlin shop BlueLotusDesignsShop offers mobiles with lights (ingenious!) and had jewelry, crystals, crystal necklaces, and earrings. She also offers Crystal crowns that are so boho chic — meaning a cross between Bohemian and hippie influences! I personally adore her product and have purchased some stones from her to add to my own supplies. Jacqueline also makes Crowns, Jewelry and many other items. Do check out her items!

I love to give Sarah a shout-out as the community is great and will assist anyone with their small business to grow.
As with each blog, I thank you for reading, clicking like, commenting and sharing for all the beautiful handmade sellers! I so appreciate you coming! I want to remind you that I am an affiliate blogger for Etsy.com and I receive a very small fee if an item sells from clicks on my blog. It is not why I support handmade sellers, I am one myself. I support them as I believe it is good to purchase from small businesses and to purchase handmade items made with loving hands.

I asked a couple of people who are artists “what they are doing to get ready for Christmas” and of course, they are in the throes of creating for the Holidays, with Volunteerism, getting ready for Cooking and having family time! Ah, the balance of being an artist and coming up for air to breathe and spend time with family and friends!
These artists will warm your heart. You can find some excellent and festive gifts for your loved ones or just for yourself! Look at their shops and join their Facebook Business pages for offers right on Facebook!
I ask you, what are you doing to get ready for the Holiday Season? There are so many different holidays during November through January. It is not just about Christmas, I am focusing on Christmas, but I am very cognizant that there are many different Holidays during this time of year. I celebrate with you, whatever you celebrate, and am so happy you are here visiting my blog! Leave a like, a heart or a comment, thanks!
To lead I am going to start with a favorite artist friend of mine MJ –Mary Jane Chadbourne! I actually swoon over her work! I am in love with her art and her processes! This is one of Mary Jane’s larger pieces:
This season Mary Jane (who goes by MJ) has made a number of Santa’s Elves that she has been selling and I believe she has sold-out all of the Elves at this time. I loved her Elves and was not quick enough to purchase one of them!
Santa’s Elves 2017
Currently, MJ is working on some vintage style pieces and I cannot wait to see them! I will be in line this time to get one of her pieces of art!
MJ has been shown at the “Wonderland Gallery” in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is an acclaimed artist, as she has been shown in many other galleries in Las Vegas and Utah! She has also been featured in the book: The Art of Crayon: Draw, Color, Resist, Sculpt, Carve!which you can find on Amazon.
MJ is one busy person. MJ has been in numerous magazines including Stampington, Cloth, Paper Scissors and more. She experiences that push-pull of being an artist while doing other things like teaching classes in the Artful Gathering each year for the past few years. I adore her style and her art. She is a very precious person to get to know via the internet. I would love to know her in person too! She is graceful and really kind to share her talent as she does.
MJ is an instructor at the Artful Gathering, and at this time of year, she is also working on a class (her class along with all the other makers are extremely hush-hush until they are revealed!). MJ has a wonderful studio at the back of her property where the magic happens! I have taken one of MJ’s classes and they are so good! MJ stated, that she has taught five classes on Artful Gathering which have all had great success and next to creating art, teaching is the love of her life! You really should look into a class by her as you will learn so much about creating! You can also purchase a DVD if you cannot take the class in “real time” and with the DVD you can take the class at a later date! Like I said, I took a class but I also purchased a DVD to go back to over and over for a refresher as the class was so full of ideas and techniques.
Please visit MJ’s Website to see the full array of her work, as it is outstanding! She is a wonderful mixed media artist who is able to work in many mediums very successfully! I once saw in a magazine or a book that MJ Chadbourne made a very large mixed media piece that she donated to charity. MJ and her husband (who is also very talented, he is a woodworker) work together making items for charitable purposes to give back.
MJ and her husband have donated art projects for various fundraisers around the Las Vegas valley. One of the charities they have donated to is to ALS to help families and persons experiencing ALS. The Chadbourne’s both always believe in giving back!

Next, is Sherry Westfall Matthews of Dalaimomma on Etsy is a fantastic and celebrated artist in her own right and I am so enamored with her work. She is another artist I admire tremendously. I would love to grow into the kind of artist that Sherry is. In Sherry’s bio, it states that “Sherry Westfall Matthews is a self-taught Southern artist who lives and creates in Alabama with the support of her two kids, three dogs, and a cat.” Sherry believes wholeheartedly that creating art keeps people young at heart by through looking for the magic of inspiration in the world and “…continuing to grow by experimenting with new art techniques and products.”
Sherry fully supports and is an ambassador for Retro Cafe Art (which I support and buy lots of items from too).Sherry is a long-time loyal Retro Cafe Art Gallery customer (she says that’s where the Art Supply Fairy lives and the art Fairy is Kristin Hubick!). You will find that Sherry will use items from Retro Cafe Art to assist in her creative processes. She also creates her own art by sculpting items, using found items and I think she can make things just from the air if she wanted!
Sherry is also an ambassador for RELICS & ARTIFACTS®. If you read Sandra Everstson’s Blog and shout out to Sherry: Sandra Evertson states that she is overjoyed to introduce you to the RELICS & ARTIFACTS® Brand Ambassadors. This is our hand-picked team of designers created to spread the beauty and potential of the RELICS & ARTIFACTS® line of craft products: Sherry Westfall Matthews believes imagination is much like a muscle…the more you create, the stronger your inspiration becomes!” Also, Sherry being self-taught leads her to want to share her trial and error wins (and losses).
Right now Sherry and her daughter are working with Toys for Tots for the holiday season. They have a small group of volunteers (approximately 15) who are doing everything in their power to help 1800 children this year! Wow, that is a lot of kids in need. This small group of volunteers take the applications, help raise funds for the toys and fill the bags of toys. It is a completely hands and hearts for this organization. The team for Toys for Tots has a big giveaway next weekend so they are insanely busy. Sherry is looking forward to getting back to her art, however, the time spent giving and helping area children who have less is very rewarding. Sherry and her daughter have been volunteering for 3 years and it has become a tradition for her family to give back to her community. I admire what Sherry is doing while she is teaching & modeling for her daughter the same values.
I worked in the Social Work field for 22 years and worked with people and children who were at Risk of harm or who had experienced harm. I did a lot of Brown Santa’s, Toys for Tots, filling sacks and taking gifts to Foster children and giving back at Christmas time. It is a need and a lot of artists who are drawn to create but also drawn to give back in their own ways to their communities. Many artists donate their art to raise money for charities.
Well, as you can tell, I am a raving fan of both of the ladies I have featured today! I adore their art and the processes they go through to get the final product~
Last but not least, is my weekly shout out and gratitude for Artisan Indie and Sarah Sewell’s Community of Artisans. I am a raving fan of hers also! She has helped me understand the business side of my art. She is helping many artists understand how to have a business by doing what you love. Sarah is a “Postive Thinker,” and believes in advocating for the small individual businesses. Sarah started her business to help others! She has had other very successful businesses and she chose to open a business that is fruitful but also gives back. She has wonderful goals to support Artisans, and believes in people! I mention her in all my blogs out of gratitude for what she has given to me as far as training, learning, friendship, and a wonderful community of people that I belong to! Check out Artisan Indie! On the link to Artisan Indie, right on the front page she offers a Boot Camp for new Etsy Sellers! Right there for free! Do join us in this community, as you will not regret it! One day she will have her own sellers site for Artisans.
Well, we are the end of this week’s blog, I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing it for you! I will be back next Wednesday featuring more handmade sellers and artisans in their own right. I will try to feature “Content-based business owners” who are Experts in their fields such as SEO, Finding your Target Customer, Writing Exciting Copy and on and one. The Content-based Experts are a part of Artisan Indie. I will try to add one Expert each week along with the artisans I showcase each if they aren’t too, too, busy! If not I will be featuring them in the coming new year (2018)!
Please share the blog on your own social media as these Artisans are worthy of being seen for their gifts! Remember, I am an affiliate Blogger for Etsy.com and the links I provide if you purchase, I receive a small fee, but that is not why I showcase any of the sellers I showcase, I do it as I believe in them and their art!
Love & Light to you, and thank you for reading!

Did any of you hum a tune… are you old enough to know that commerical for Folgers Coffee?
My question this week is “What is your Perfect Fall Morning?”
For me, the best time of day is early in the morning, just before sunrise. I go outside with my coffee and just enjoy the quiet… I love to look to the East and see the sun come up. I know each morning, is a new day, a new possibility, a new chance for something, poetic, artful or just peaceful.
I have asked my participants about their views of the beginning of their days and how they feel about mornings.
Diana loves to wake up while it is still dark outside. She makes her coffee and goes into her studio. She loves to watch the day begin while she drinks her coffee. She comments that the light of day seems to take it’s time right now with it being late Fall and the beginning of Winter. She loves the quiet. She looks at her work table, feeling how lucky she is to be an artist and have a job that she loves! After some coffee at home, she wakes up her little pup Flora, and they take a drive to a local coffee shop for some fancy coffee, comes back to her art room and works for the day!
One of the things I admire about Diana is that she keeps work hours to make her art and has new pieces each day that she either offers for sale on Etsy or she goes to local fairs in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. Diana is an acclaimed artist and has her work in galleries in Minnesota. I have some of her work and I dearly love it.
Diana has her work in these Galleries and stores: Gallery360, The Porch and Atelier, Dwell, and at Scarborough Fair, all of these spaces are in Minnesota.
So if you can see her work in person — do! If not know you can get her work on Etsy and have it sent to you!
It is an honor to write about Diana and she and I have become friends online!
I am also blogging about a local (Austin, TX area) artisan Lauri Smith of WhiteCloudWorldTeas. She is a friend of mine and I love her product~
I asked Lauri what is her perfect morning and how she spends it, and she said, “No morning is complete without a cup of tea and even a 2nd steeping..” of tea.
WhiteCloudWorldTeas was born in Austin, TX “steep,” in the Heart of Texas (Little play on words there, clever writer Lauri!). They are a vegetarian/Vegan owned company and are community minded for the local area and any area they sell their tea. Lauri and her team search the world’s markets to find their favorite teas and the most flavorful blends for their teas. One of the things that make their handmade business stand out is the collective decades of tea experience they have in the company, they present you the customer with the best menu of teas based on information available. It is WhiteCloudWorldTeas hope that everyone from a person who is just discovering the world of fine tea for the first time to the seasoned connoisseur will find their website, products, and level of service will be well suited for the consumer. WhiteCloudWorldTeas only order small batches and use the best packaging to ensure that the tea you will order is the freshest, highest quality tea anyone can buy.
Lauri also sells her tea locally in Austin, TX. You can find her teas at the Monument Market inside the famous Monument Cafe in Georgetown, also at Savory Spice Shop at the Arboretum -Austin. WhiteCloudWorldTeas are also at Blue Genie Art Bazaar from Black Friday until Christmas Eve.
Please come back often as you never know who or what I will blog about. I would love it if you would share, comment, click the heart, or star the Blog. I would love if you would re-blog too~
No blog would be complete without me mentioning the Business Coaching Group I belong to which is ArtisanIndie.
Artisan Indie is the home to handcrafted businesses that “Flourish.” Within Artisan Indie you will find the support and a community or people you need when you need it to grow your handmade businesses. You have heard many things “take a village to grow,” you will find your village with Sarah Sewell who is the founder and creative CEO of the community. She has many experts in the group to help you grow your handmade business! Please come have a look and join us!
One of the experts in Artisan Indie is Lara Noelle of BecomeMoreToday which is a coaching program to assist artisans in “becoming more each day.” Lara’s perfect morning is a morning where she can watch the sun come up. The sky starts to get lighter and go from blue/grey to an orangery yellow color. She loves it as the sun starts to peak over the horizon. Lara finds mornings as literally watching the day be born. She finds it to be breathtaking and really puts everything into [her] life into perspective. Problems seem smaller and easier to overcome and the joys of the day feel bigger and are more important. Her statement above is how she looks at life and at her chosen profession as a Certified Life Coach. What does that mean? Lara Noelle is a “Certified Life Coach,” she is like a sports coach to assist you in your goals for your entrepreneur business. She works to assist you in looking at things differently and to set, & meet your goals. Lara is not a clinical therapist, she works to help in life/business/coaching a person to achieve more.
Examples of her work are to help people develop skills in finding their Target markets and she does quick shop reviews for Etsy Sellers. She also works with other sellers whether they sell on their own websites or in-person sales.
Lara has Workbooks, Coaching sessions to refocus the business owner for success, Target Market Coaching to assist the business owner in getting sales, and has Webinars coming soon! Lara also works for Artisan Indie so you can ask her questions there if you are a member. She has great ideas and can really refocus a person who may have a block or just needs to get assistance with a problem (people like me who are notorious procrastinators!). Check out her website for the services she offers!
I am not an affiliate blogger for ArtisanIndie, but I am one for Etsy.com.
Thanks for reading me and please click on the artists, artisans, creative peeps I write about. We can change the world by supporting handmade and handcrafted! I do believe this!

What are your Fall Essentials, your “go to,” so you are prepared for the Season? Do the leaves change where you live, those Brilliant colors, or is it snowing right now where you live and you need to be pulling out your warmer clothes? Do you rearrange your closet putting Summer clothes away and getting out all your warmer clothes?
I live near Austin, TX so it does not get cold here for a bit more… it is November 22, 2017, so we are just getting a few cold fronts. I cannot wait for my winter wardrobe~ How about you? I love cozy warm things to wear that a soft. I learned that my dear friend Leila West of Leila Nicole Designs also likes to wear warm sweaters, loose but warm pants, having a fireplace is “a must” for her and drinking Hot Cocoa is a wonderful distraction! Leila’s weather is a bit like mine living in the Northern part of California. I asked Leila about her weather, and am learning it is a bit like mine with the high and low temperatures. However, as you know recently in the news Leila’s area gets wildfires and that can be very worrisome. Her home was safe but many lost their homes and many forested areas were burned.
I normally showcase 3 Etsy Sellers per blog, but oh my goodness everyone is so busy! So today for this week’s blog I am showcasing my friend who is not only an Etsy seller but she also has a storefront on Amazon Handmade! Leila and I are pen pals of a sort, we talk about all things business and have made fast friends! I am amazed by her regularly, as she works full time, has two young children, a hubby, a home to take care of, and dinners to juggle! She is one busy lady because on top of that she is a jewelry designer who has two handmade storefronts!
I am going to shop for myself at Leila’s Nicole Designs! I hope you enjoy and go visit her shops! It is time for Christmas shopping! She makes beautiful handmade pieces that are delightful and have a sense of whimsy with the small flowers embedded into her designs. Leila states that she is “a very visual person, I love to look at all sorts of imagery, whether its artwork or jewelry creations. Often times I will wake from a night of dreams with jewelry designs in my thoughts.” How cool is that? I love her design methods! One of her pieces below:
She makes magical jewelry using real flowers in her work! She has a lot of patience in her work using these very small items to place in her pendants for your jewelry. Leila is excellent about getting her product out to Amazon Handmade also. She uses Fulfillment By Amazon, meaning she sends her jewelry packaged in her beautiful packaging to Amazon and it is ready for those who want to get their products fast! I admire her work ethic and her abilities! Some of Leila’s packaging:
An offering of hers on Amazon for your Christmas or Winter Holiday needs:
One of my favs! I may have to get this one off of Amazon~ You really need to check out her work!
Another piece I am super intrigued with is this Peruvian Gemstone! It is a yummy color and the silver is gorgeous with the color of the gemstone!
Did you see Leila and her jewelry on showcase on her local Fox News Channel? She was featured and wow, good for her!
She says, “Missed me on Fox 40 News? You can check out the replay here!” Click the tag!
I adore her work if you cannot tell! Well I am a busy person right now and I must say this is my happiest time of the year as I love the change in the season, I feel a warmth of Fall.
Have you wondered just what Etsy is? Etsy is a selling site that has Handmade Sellers who offer for sale, Handmade items, Vintage Items, Supplies to make Art, and Services to assist handmade sellers. I am an affiliate blogger for Etsy.com. I am always looking for new shop owners to showcase on my blog. Feel free to drop me a line or comment if you are interested in being showcased on the blog. I also have two shops on Etsy. One is nikeebottalicodesigns and objectsandoddities. I offer Bridal, Bridesmaid and Children’s Accessories in one shop and the other shop I add supplies that are vintage and new. I would love it if you would visit my shops! You can also find me on my Nikeebottalico.com Website.
Now Amazon is also offering Handmade Sellers as part of their [dot]com. You can search for Handmade sellers on their toolbar. It is amazing to purchase an item that is actually handmade by a person, and not made by machines. All handmade makers use quality products that make many of their Jewelry items (and other items) where they will become heirlooms for you and your family!
Leila and I are both members of Artisan Indie which is a marketing group to help us learn more about selling online. I always want to give Sarah Sewell a shout out because I have learned so much about having online sales businesses from her group. She has many experts in her group to assist anyone who wants to own an online business! I will be showcasing a number of the experts from Sarah’s site who also sell their services on Etsy to assist you in growing your own artisan business!
Be sure to check Artisan Indie out as it is growing like crazy. You can also see the Instagram for Artisan Indie which is gorgeous! The Instagram of Artisan Indie is beautifully laid out content that showcases the best of the best of handmade! The Artisan Indie Instagram is for members only. Sarah has an eye for beauty and loves to showcase her members! I was showcased on the Artisan Indie Instagram with a Green item:
Well if Christmas is on your mind, be sure to check out handmade! You can get anything you desire by an artisan who cares about what you get when you make a purchase! Remember to shop small handmade businesses!
Lots of love and see you next week where I will be talking about your perfect morning! And oh yes — are you a handmade maker? Let me know I am always looking for new people to showcase! Just let me know!
Please leave a comment, and heart the blog, I will so appreciate it!
Each year I always find it interesting that I need to prepare for the Holiday Season because once Halloween has ended and I find I am a bit behind! Handmade sellers are off to the races and there is a rush to get through Thanksgiving be fully prepared for the Winter Holiday Season. For small business owners, making gift items and having them listed in online shops is paramount!
It is the same for me, plus, I am trying to plan what to blog about! Each Fall to Hanukkah or to Christmas I always want to showcase other small handmade business owners. It is always important to me to give a to shout-out to my fellow handmade sellers! First and foremost, I am one of the handmade sellers, and we aim to support our customers by giving them an important option of purchasing something that is not mass made, that has that special touch to share with your family or friends as gifts.
Some of you (who live in the United States) will be shaking your head and saying but what about Thanksgiving? I can just laugh as when you go into local stores and all the Christmas items are on the shelves! The stores put their items up right after Halloween! We must follow the big box stores and their dates to stay relevant!
Handmade sellers must learn to balance the work of preparing their shops, business pages, websites and In-person Holiday shows, with our family, friends and all that happenings in the Fall. We do have Thanksgiving and find ourselves with very little time. Oh, none of us are complaining as this is the busiest this time of year to serve our customers and their shopping needs!
Don’t forget that it is so easy to shop with us, online, no stores to walk through, no lines to wait in and it can be sent to you already wrapped (many offer this service). We are trying to compete with big department stores!
I wanted to know how my 3 Etsy sellers have a “Work Balance” and “what Goals my 3 Etsy sellers” have to prepare for the Season. Again, I have interviewed 3 Etsy Sellers for this Blog. I like the number 3… it is an odd number but I love it!
Since everyone gets so busy, I wondered how these folks set goals to stay on top of their crafting and how to fit everyday life into a busy schedule. Most run their shops alone (no assistants), some continue to work full time at another job, and when they get really busy, a business owner can become overwhelmed during the holidays and need to have balance as they want to please their customers. Most find that setting and keeping goals is most important and to keep Lists (oh my!!). Lists can also be hard because, a creative, really wants to create and the keeping up with the business side of things can be really hard! Creating is so much fun and the other work (like lists, ordering enough products, taxes, and many excel sheets) feels dry and kind of boring! Couple all these things with preparing for the holidays with your family, children, and friends adds just a little stress. I am sure everyone reading the blog has the same kind of stress this time of year!
My first Seller is Maggie Akerson of 3rdStreetLegacy on Etsy. Maggie not only sells her jewelry online she also brings her jewelry to Markets and Shows. She described her goals are to make sure she completes her jewelry for a big show that is on November 26th. She is making many items in a Rockabilly style and which is sought after at this particular show she is working on the 26th of November. Maggie also handcrafts polymer clay roses to add to her jewelry pieces as focals. Maggie also has goals to add more metal work and hand-forged pieces to her jewelry designs. Maggie has, unfortunately, had a hand injury which makes it very difficult to make jewelry. She is feeling much better so she is able to give it a go! One of Maggies pieces with a blue handmade rose is here:
Next, is Ingrid Anderson of LilisGems on Etsy. She has a number of goals for the Holiday Season! Ingrid is an avid gardener (a lady after my own heart!) and loves using vintage components in her jewelry. Ingrid wants to garden and make jewelry! She strives to keep her all her goals in alignment. You will find that Ingrid’s jewelry is stunning! Ingrid (as well as the other makers showcased) are using Trending Colors that are in the Jewel Tones for this season! Be sure to check them out!
Ingrid has goals this holiday season as well. Ingrid like me is a blogger, and she aims to start blogging regularly again. She is going to try to add new products daily and utilize all her social media channels! Find her Blog here. Do check her out as well as Mary Katherine as they both are using a product from the 1928 line that has been brought back to life by Brenda Sue Lansdowne of B’Sues Boutiques.
Mary Katherine of TheItalianCarnival is working closely with B’Sues Boutiques 1928 product line to create her new Spring Collection of jewelry that will strike a”… sentimental chord …” in your heart. Mary Katherine is using special items for her jewelry collection from Brenda Sue at B’sues Boutiques. Her goals are to give you romance and something so lovely to wear around your neck or ears! Mary Katherine is a skilled maker who also an expert in Vintage Jewelry! She is able to let you know about vintage jewelry, ask her if you should take apart a broken vintage piece or keep it whole as once a piece is taken apart, it is as though we are not saving a piece of Jewelry History! Mary Katherine’s goals are to stay up to date on all things Vintage Jewelry and to get her Etsy Shop loaded for the Holiday Season!
Some of Mary Katherine’s Work which is coming soon to her Etsy shop. Check out her shop regularly to see when she lists her new line of jewelry.
Not only does Mary Katherine have an Etsy Shop, she also has a Ruby Lane shop, she loves Vintage Jewelry. She also strives for the best customer experience possible! Do check out her Etsy Shop as well as her Ruby Lane Shop!
Someone else I want to give a shout out to is Sarah Sewell, of Flourish at Artisan Indie. If you want to learn how to run a small business in a community of artisans, check Sarah out! I have been a member for a while and do love the positive community and the positive learning process. I learned how to set goals as an artist from Sarah and her community of artists! I do find it hard to set and keep goals especially during the holidays~ And an FYI, I am not an affiliate blogger for Sarah Sewell and ArtisanIndie! I talk about her because I love her group. I am an affiliate blogger on Etsy though.
I sell on Etsy, Weebly, Facebook and in person sales! So one must set goals to keep up with life and owning a business.
Well, Thank you for reading and until next Wednesday!
Love & light to you
Oh ~ P.S.
Please leave a comment and heart the blog for these makers! Here’s how the maroon button will open a link to comment and the light blue heart is the place to heart the blog. Thank you again:
